Optimization

Next-Gen image format

Select WebP for high compatibility, AVIF for superior compression. Please note that the generation process will start automatically after saving the settings.


The first option adds rewrite rules to your site’s configuration file (.htaccess) and does not alter your pages code. This does not work with CDN though.
The second option replaces the <img> tags with <picture> tags. This is the preferred solution but some themes may break, so make sure to verify that everything seems fine.

Media Library

This option is recommended to reduce larger images. You can save up to 80% after resizing. The new width should not be less than your largest thumbnail width, which is actually 2048px. Resizing is done on upload or during optimization.

You can choose to optimize different image sizes created by WordPress here.

The original size is automatically optimized by Imagify.
Remember each additional image size will affect your Imagify monthly usage!

Custom Folders

Select folders for optimization.

Selecting a folder will also optimize images in sub-folders. The only exception is "Site’s root": when selected, only images that are directly at the site’s root will be optimized (sub-folders can be selected separately).
Folders that are hidden in the folder selector window are excluded and will not be optimized even if a parent folder is selected.

You can choose three levels of compression

Normal

This mode provides lossless optimization, your images will be optimized without any visible change.

If you want the perfect quality for your images, we recommend you that mode.

Note: the file size reduction will be less, compared to aggressive mode.

Aggressive

This mode provides perfect optimization of your images without any significant quality loss.

This will provide a drastic savings on the initial weight, with a small reduction in image quality. Most of the time it's not even noticeable.

If you want the maximum weight reduction, we recommend using this mode.

Ultra

This mode will apply all available optimizations for maximum image compression.

This will provide a huge savings on the initial weight. Sometimes the image quality could be degraded a little.

If you want the maximum weight reduction, and you agree to lose some quality on the images we recommend using this mode.
